The Minister of Science: Investing in science and technology is a prerequisite for the resistance economy

The Minister of Science, Research and Technology, stated that investing in science and technology is necessary for a resistance economy, said: "Economics must be knowledge-based and science-based, and only then can we meet our needs through innovation."

In a ceremony honoring the services of Dr. Talebi, former President of the University of Isfahan, and introducing Dr. Harsij as the new head of the University, Dr. Zolfigol said: “Dr. Houshang Talebi has spent a large part of his life on the advancement of science in Iran and the development of the University of Isfahan. We should be grateful for their efforts.”

The Minister of Science also referred to the national and transnational experiences of Dr. Hossein Harsij and said: "Without a doubt, with the presence of Dr. Harsij and his valuable experiences, many changes will take place at the University of Isfahan." Dr. Zolfi Gol further added: “Isfahan University, as a comprehensive and well-known university in the country, has a heavy mission and we hope that Dr. Harsij and his team will be able to take steps to achieve the lofty goals of the university.”

The Minister of Science described the fields of humanities and basic sciences as gold mining and said: "In the developed countries of the world, the most elite people in the fields of humanities are recruited and students from other countries are recruited for the fields of basic sciences and engineering."

Dr. Zolfigol added: "Resistance economics must be knowledge-based and science-based, and in this case, we can meet our needs through innovation and produce goods that are uncompetitive." He considered the functions of the university to be based on serving the community as well as achieving scientific authority and said: "Investment should be made in the direction of scientific authority and social effectiveness."

The Minister of Science, Research and Technology continued: “One of the reasons for the departure of the elites from the country is not having a job; Unfortunately, the elites do not feel that they can be effective in the development of their country. If such a young person has a job and feels that he can use his science, knowledge and talent for the development of his country, he will never leave his home, family and homeland and will not go to other drawers. Establishing a zone and an innovation center by the former president of the University of Isfahan is a great task and, God willing, by passing a decade of life in this zone, Isfahan Scientific Research Town can be a source of many charities and blessings.” He added: "There is no doubt that the new head of the University of Isfahan has the same view and will continue with the same management team."

Dr. Zolfigol noted: "We try to adjust the software sections and regulations so that the presence of technologists and innovators in universities, science and technology parks and growth and innovation centers can be accelerated and facilitated so that, God willing, we can develop comprehensive development in the field of innovation, and have technology.”
