Companies of Iran’s science & technology parks had more than 18,000 billion tomans in product sales in 2020
The head of the Technology Affairs Planning Office of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology announced the increase in sales of companies located in the country's science & technology parks and said: "Last year, the sales of these companies reached more than 18,000 billion toman."
Dr. Behnam Talebi, head of the Technology Affairs Planning Office of the MSRT, said at the meeting of heads of science and technology parks attended by the Minister of Science: "Out of 49 science and technology parks in the country, 28 are regional parks classified into four technology zones."
He added: "Over the last two decades, the number of science & technology parks has been increased, paving the way for the growth of technology units and knowledge-based companies.”
Referring to the activities of 2,000 knowledge-based companies in 2020, he said: "There are about 65,000 employees in the country's technology units, and the important point is that 75% of these employees have a bachelor's degree or higher, so that 46% have a bachelor's degree, while 23% have a master's degree and 8% have a doctorate.
Dr. Talebi continued: "In recent years, we have had a declining trend in the export debate due to the imposition of sanctions.” He said that one of the main tasks of the Deputy Minister of Technology and Innovation is to take care of the creation and formation of technology in research and higher education institutions.
