The Fourth Meeting of Executive Board of the Article 64 of Sixth Iran’s Development Program
The Fourth Meeting of Executive Board of the Article 64 of Sixth Iran’s Development Program was held in 8th Tir of 1399. The meeting was about the establishment of the universities’ joint branches. Several representatives of major governmental institutions and organizations, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Center for International Scientific Cooperation of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, Ministry of Cooperatives, Labors, and Social Welfare, and Iran’s Central Bank.
In the meeting, Dr. Salar Amoli, the Acting Minister for International Scientific Cooperation, referred to the complexity of international interactions in the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic. He added this crisis could have negative repercussions on scientific and technological exchanges among north-south countries while the gap between these country groups could be widened. Therefore, we should seek new mechanisms for scientific, international interactions in the post-corona era to decrease such an emerging scientific gap.
In the following, the meeting focused on several methods and procedures to facilitate the knowledge exchange, including foreign postdoctoral students’ and researchers’ payments. Furthermore, other issues, including joint scientific investments by the domestic and foreign universities, new models for scientific and international interactions, utilizing virtual spaces for scientific and international exchanges, and financial resources for universities, were discussed in the meeting.
