MSRT Announces its Interest in Expansion of Cooperation with the Arab World
The delegates of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), headed by Prof. Salar Amoli, the Acting Minister for International Scientific Cooperation, attended the 4th Assembly of Iranian and Arab Universities.
This event was hosted by the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, where the university Chancellor, representatives of MSRT, as well as heads and directors of universities in Oman, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon were present.
Prof. Kafi, chancellor of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad highlighted the need for expanding the member countries of this assembly, such as Turkey, Afghanistan and Malaysia.
Elaborating on Iran’s recent science and technology achievements, Prof. Salar Amoli announced the readiness of MSRT and its affiliated universities and research institutions for sharing their experiences with our neighboring countries and the Arab world, which can be implemented for meeting the needs and overcoming the existing and yet common challenges of our societies.
He also elaborated on three main topics of ‘focusing on Science and Technology for covering the society needs’, ‘globalizing the higher education for being in the global knowledge cycle’, and ‘offering suitable professions and skills for graduate students’. Furthermore, he noted the exchange of students and academics, holding joint venture research projects, establishing joint university branches, expanding cooperation in the framework of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), supporting the expansion of Persian and Arabic language and literature, as Iran’s proposal for expanding cooperation with the Arab world.
