Minister Gholami Emphasized on Expanding Scientific Cooperation Worldwide
In the Roundtable for International Scientific Cooperation, H.E. Minister Gholami expressed full support of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on international scientific cooperation and highlighted the importance of having a bottom to top trend for international scientific cooperation, where scientists are the main base of international scientific cooperation.
Prof. Gholami pointed out the necessity of exchange of experience of researchers of universities and research institutions in developing scientific interactions and networks with all universities and research institutions across worldwide.
In this meeting, Prof. Salar Amoli, the Acting Minister for International Scientific Cooperation, announced the growing trend of Iran's joint international scientific publications, as well as the increasing number of exchange of top Iranian and international researchers and scientists worldwide. He added that there are currently 466 joint venture research projects being implemented between Iranian researchers and those of Austria, Germany, Hungary, India, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, and Turkey.
Prof. Salar Amoli also stated that Iranian researchers have had significant joint citations at top journals, where during 2014-2018, there are the total of 12,973 publications with the US, 5,786 with Canada, 3,384 with China and 3,081 with Turkey. He added that University of Tehran, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Sharif University of Technology, Technical University of Isfahan, Amirkabir university of Technology, Tarbiat Modares University, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, University of Tabriz and Shiraz, are the top 10 universities with the highest number of joint publications.
