Iran and Syria Discuss Strengthening Scientific Cooperation
The Deputy of the Centre for International Scientific Cooperation, Dr. Attaollah Koohian, had a meeting with the Syrian Cultural ambassador in Tehran, Dr Ibrahim Ghiath.
In this meeting, both sides expressed their determination on expanding and strengthening scientific cooperation in various fields. Given the expiration of the existing Cooperation Document, both countries referred to the close cultural and academic cooperation with Syria and the need for renewing this Document, that would allow for speeding the existing cooperation and providing a platform for future scientific cooperation.
Dr Koohian also emphasized on expanding and deepening such cooperation in various fields of undertaking joint venture research projects, exchange of students, academics and scientists for short-term and sabbatical leaves, as well as allocation of scholarships.
Subsequently, the two sides exchanged views on the proposed contents of the Implementation Plan and Memorandum of Understanding, to be signed between the MSRT and the Ministry of Higher Education of Syria, and hoped for this document to be signed by mid-August.
