Iran and Swiss Discuss Expansion of Science and Technology Cooperation

Following the visit of the Swiss delegates of SERI with 19 Swiss university and research institute chancellors to Iran in 2017, a delegate of the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology paid an official visit to Bern in Switzerland, to have the 2nd round of Science-Technology meeting on the Iran-Swiss cooperation.

This meeting took at State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI – SBFI, where the State Secretariat, Ms Martina Hirayama headed the Swiss delegation, and in addition to the Iranian ambassador to Switzerland, and several Iranian university chancellors, representatives of the international relation office of SERI, international relation office of the Swiss Ministry of Health, Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), University of  Zurich (as the director of the Swiss consortium of universities) and General Health Deputy of Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (TPH).

Moreover, the Iranian consisted of chancellors of Isfahan University of Technology, Sharif University of Technology, K. N. Toosi University of Technology, universities of Shiraz and Zanjan, Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, and deputies of Tehran University of Medical Sciences will also accompany him.

In this meeting, representatives of Iranian and Swiss universities introduced their organisation along with their achievements, followed by various perspectives of science and technology cooperation between universities and research institutes of the two countries were discussed.

The Iranian delegates had several other site visits of Swiss universities and research institutes.
