Iran and African Union Discuss Expansion of Science and Technology Cooperation

Delegates of the African Union, headed by Prof. Sarah MBI Enow Anyang Agbor, commissioner of Human Resources, Science and Technology had a meeting with Prof. Salar Amoli, the Acting Minister for International Scientific Cooperation of the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

In this meeting, both sides expressed their keen interest in expanding science and technology cooperation. Prof. Salar Amoli noted Iran’s great potentials and achievements in science and technology, in particular in Nano-technology, Biotechnology, Engineering, Sciences and Aerospace, and highlighted Iran’s will and interest for exchange s of students and lectures, holding joint venture research projects and various technical and vocational training programs in priority fields of the member countries of African Union.

Prof. Salar Amoli also referred to Iranian women’s significant role and achievements in various scientific fields, and Prof. Anyang Agbor also noted great potentials for expanding scientific cooperation between the two countries.

Moreover, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Pan African University & the Isfahan Science and Technology Town, and Isfahan Regional Centre for Technology Business Incubators and Science Parks Development on science, research and technology.
