Iran and Cyprus discuss deepening of scientific cooperation

The ambassador of Republic of Cyprus to Tehran, Mr Petros T. Nacouzis paid a visit to the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology to have a meeting with Dr Salar Amoli, the Acting Minister for International Scientific Cooperation, where the two sides expressed their keen interest in expanding and deepening scientific and academic cooperation.

In this meeting, emphasised was made on the importance of enhancing the long relation and so, strengthening and expanding the existing cooperation between the two countries.

Condemning the illegal and one-sided actions of the US, which has targeted isolation of scientists and researchers of certain countries, Mr Nacouzis emphasised on the importance of freedom in exchanging science, research and technology. Referring to high capacities and potentials of Iranian researchers and scientists, he seized this opportunity for expanding scientific and academic relations between Iranian and Cypriot scientists.

Welcoming cooperation with Cyprus, Dr Salar Amoli also expressed his optimism for future productive cooperation, and further discussed the upcoming visit of Cyprus Minister of Education and Culture along with Cypriot delegates in late February 2019 to Iran.
