Spanish Ambassador Visits the MSRT

The Spanish Ambassador, Mr Lopez Busquets, paid an official visit to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) to discuss expanding scientific cooperation between the two countries.

In this meeting, Mr Busquets met with Prof. Salar Amoli, the Acting Minister for International Scientific Cooperation, Dr Boroumand, the Deputy for Research and Technology of MSRT, and representatives of Allameh Tabatabai University. The two sides referred to the existing friendship between the countries and a series of economic and political cooperation, and the huge capacity for cooperation in the fields of science and technology.

Dr Salar Amoli, stated MSRT’s three main policies of ‘transferring knowledge and science from university to society and industries’, ‘expanding vocational training’ and ‘internationalization of higher education’. He referred to Spain as one of MSRT’s priorities for scientific cooperation, and so, appointment of Allameh Tabatabai University as the leading house, who shall take care of managing, harmonising scientific cooperation between Iranian and Spanish universities, research institutions and science and technology parks.

Dr Salar concluded the meeting by emphasising on the importance of having a systematic and continuous and yet step by step cooperation between the two countries, followed by the need of defining a road map, and detailed negotiations on technology parks, joint venture projects, research works, joint degrees, university by university cooperation, joint supervision, and working under the umbrella of Europeans programmes such as Horizon2020 and Erasmus + programmes.
