Iran and South Africa signed 6 Joint Venture Research projects

Following the visit of the South African delegate, headed by H.E. Minister Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor, the delegates had a meeting with the Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology, H.E. Prof. Mansour Gholami, where expansion of various fields of scientific and technological cooperation was discussed.

Referring to the importance of expanding scientific cooperation with South Africa, Minister Gholami expressed Ministry’s interest over exchange of professors and students between universities and research institutions.

The two sides agreed on developing existing scientific and research cooperation in the fields of technology, environment, and engineering. Minister Pandor also expressed her country’s keen interest in strengthening scientific coopetition with Iran and mentioned the practical and effective measures employed by Iran and South Africa regarding scientific cooperation. She added that the South African government has set up fund budgets for undertaking research with Iran. 

Furthermore, in this meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed, where the two Sides agreed to introduce 6 Joint Venture Research project between Iran and South Africa.
