5th Iran-Indonesia Joint Science and Technology committee Meeting, 9th October 2017

In line with the visit of the Indonesian delegate, headed by Minister Muhammad Nasir to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), the 5th Iran- Indonesia Joint Science and Technology Committee was held at the MSRT on 9th October 2017.

The Iranian side of this Committee was headed by the Dr Salar Amoli, the Acting Minister for International Scientific Cooperation, and the Indonesian side, by Ms Nada Darmiyanti Sriwijaningrum Marsudi, Head Bureau, Cooperation, and Public Communication.

Reviewing the previous and existing scientific cooperation between the two countries, both sides emphasised on the importance of preparing the road map for the two country’s future scientific cooperation, and formation of a joint University Federation, where representatives of Iranian and Indonesian universities expand scientific and technology cooperation based on exchanging experiences between universities and Science and Technology Parks.  

Other attendees of this meeting were chancellors of Iranian universities of Shiraz, AlZahra, Zanjan, Imam Khomeini international University, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and Isfahan Science & Technology Town, and Indonesian universities of ITB Institute Technology of Bandung, and Gadjah Mada University, and representatives of Ministry for Economic Affairs, and Indonesian Embassy in Tehran, who discussed possible fields of scientific cooperation. It was also agreed that both sides exchange their final ideas on their research and implementation programmes.
